President's Welcome

Welcome to Gulf States Quilting Association’s year 2025.

This will be an exciting year as we prepare for our 2026 Quilt Show. I look forward to working with GSQA’s wonderful Board and all of our members to get ready for this great event.

I hope all of our members are working on their beautiful quilts so they can enter them in our 2026 show.  Volunteering to help with the Quilt Show will give you a new appreciation and understanding of all the work and planning involved in this production. I learned a lot volunteering at the 2024 Show, had a lot of fun and made some great memories.

Since I joined GSQA over 20 years ago I can’t tell you how many friends I have gained, lessons I’ve learned and goodness knows how my quilt making has improved. All due to the opportunities GSQA provides as a member. POE’s (Pursuit of Excellence), Circuit Teacher Classes, Workshops taught by National Teachers the day before our Quarterly Meetings, Lectures from National Teachers at our Quarterly Meetings, Traveling Teacher Program, all are opportunities to learn new techniques, gain knowledge, and meet new friends and sometimes get a new dessert recipe.

As a Quilter you could not ask for a better organization to join.

Glenda Copeland,  2025 GSQA President
