STITCHING ALOHA
An Introduction to Hawaiian Quilting

Aloha! Have you always admired Hawaiian quilts but felt a little intimidated to try one?

This class was designed for you.

Join quilter and hula dancer, Mary Pat Hampton, for an introduction to the traditions, stories, and techniques behind these beautiful quilts. Together we’ll learn the basics of Hawaiian appliqué and begin a simple project you can continue at home.

No appliqué experience needed — just a love of quilting and a willingness to try something new.

This fun, beginner-friendly class will guide you step-by-step through the traditional techniques that make these quilts so beautiful.

YOU WILL LEARN
• The story and tradition behind Hawaiian quilting

• How folded fabric creates stunning symmetrical designs

• How to cut and prepare a Hawaiian appliqué pattern

• Needle-turn appliqué techniques

• Placement and stitching tips

• The basics of traditional echo quilting

Come enjoy a relaxing, creative time while learning a quilting tradition inspired by the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands.
